Japan's Ajinomoto and Danone team up to cut dairy cow emissions

TOKYO — Japanese food and biotechnology company Ajinomoto has tied up with France’s Danone to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from dairy cattle with its high-performance supplement that also helps farmers save on costs.

Under a strategic partnership, an amino acid supplement will be mixed into feed for cows at farms from which that the French company procures raw milk. This is expected to reduce emissions from cows’ belching and excreta by about 10%.
