BENGALURU — Indian conglomerate Adani Group’s plan to take over Nairobi’s international airport has been stalled by a local court following protests by workers worried about job losses after the transfer of control.

The court decision on Monday followed a petition filed by the Kenya Human Rights Commission and the Law Society of Kenya claiming the government could raise the $1.85 billion that Adani Group had agreed to pay the government for control of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) over a 30-year lease.
